If you're a longtime reader of our blog, there is a band you've heard of, one we have seen live a few times in the past, a band that might just be our favourite live band at the moment and one that we have been dying to see headline their own show in Toronto… If you follow us on Instagram, then you will know that the band is BAD NERVES.

When we heard they were coming to town and doing a headlining show, we immediately took action and got ourselves on the media list. This band had never performed a full headlining set in Toronto, and we had seen various clips of how wild they get - oh man, we were so stoked. Tuesday was the big day; our bodies and camera batteries were charged, and off we went. We brought along a few friends we are always preaching to about how insanely fun their shows are, grabbed some noodle soup down the street, and got to the venue.

The venue of choice was the Horseshoe Tavern, which welcomed us with a big "SOLD OUT" sign as we were walking in, a great sign of a great night to come. We got there towards the end of Thunder Queen's set, which we caught the last few songs, we have seen them in the past and we know how great they are - a band we have covered on our website and done a few spotlights on, check them out! We worked our way up to the front and got our cameras ready to document what was to be an amazing night.

At 9:00 pm, the band rushed the stage, and the room immediately erupted in cheers. The band members all have very strong and unique personalities on stage, with Bobby running around hyping up the crowd, Will and Jimmy on guitars getting in the crowd's faces and singing harmonies, and Jon on bass and Sam on drums absolutely locked in together. Bad Nerves is the perfect power pop and punk formula; if you think their songs are catchy and great on the recordings, wait till you hear them live. There was so much dancing, moshing, and crowdsurfing! The band powered through 19 songs, including fan favourites "Dreaming" and "Can't Be Mine", and our personal favourites "Palace", "Antidote", "You've Got the Nerve", and so many more. We also got a treat: the single off their unreleased third album, "Network", which has been one of our favourite songs in the few weeks it's been out.

We also saw many familiar faces in the audience, people from the Toronto music scene and friends from the Bad Nerves community - shout-out to Garry! After what felt like a workout in the mosh pit, the next thing we knew, the show was over, and after we asked for one more song, the band was off the stage. The entire room was lit up with smiles and happiness; the vibe was seriously unique, and it could not have gotten any better. We will say it again and again: check out Bad Nerves if you have the chance; they are a must-see band that will blow you away.
