“ raw and garage feel that feels gritty but very intentional and polished"
Toronto’s newest band and project, The Mollies, has hit the scene and surprised us all! Created by Jacob Schmor, the band has just released their self-titled EP. The song we are spotlighting is “Take Five.” The track sounds like it draws inspiration from some of our favorite bands, such as Death Lens, Surf Curse, and it has an overall California sound that we love. The song gets right to the point and wastes no time, going from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds. The production has a raw and garage feel that feels gritty but very intentional and polished. With twangy guitars, driving drums and driving bass, fuzzy vocals swimming reverb. The performance, songwriting, mixing, and overall vibe of the song feel very fresh, with the entire EP showcasing unique styles and directions. We recommend checking out the EP and we can’t wait to hear more!
