Being part of the Toronto music scene has introduced us to some amazing people who are always at shows and supporting the community. Jesse and Shawn are two of those people, also known as Starship Experience. Tragic Magic is their latest release, and the song we’re spotlighting from the EP is “The Bartender Knows My Name.” The track is a straightforward rockabilly garage rock tune that’s incredibly catchy. Jesse’s vocal performance is outstanding, and the song features dynamic shifts that pull you in and out of the action beautifully.
This song perfectly captures the band’s live performances. It has singalong melodies, Shawn’s iconic vocal synth solo, hard stops, and much more. Starship Experience is deeply involved in the Toronto music scene—whether it’s performing at shows, supporting local talent, or managing one of Toronto’s best rehearsal spaces (shoutout to Space Station Rehearsals).
