" Great example of push and pull, dynamics, and the swagger that comes naturally to some bands - they’ve got it nailed down"
Locket is the latest release by an incredible band that is new to us, BRŪHA. The Denver-based 4-piece is inspired by 60s psychedelic and Mexican guitarists. Locket features a very unique, nostalgic but modern take on 60s rockabilly and psychedelic, with an explosive chorus. Don’t be fooled by the beginning - the song gets heavy but then brings you right back to dancing, just like in all our favourite songs, it’s all about that push and pull.
The song is mixed and produced perfectly; it has attitude, grit, and is also very beautiful. The vocals and guitar have a delay and reverb effect that pulls you into the song in a very personal way. The drums and bass are the driving force on the ride, keeping everything in the pocket.
This song is a great example of push and pull, dynamics, and the swagger that comes naturally to some bands - they’ve got it nailed down. We can immediately feel and hear the love and hard work that went into this song, and we recommend checking it out, as well as all their music.
They've played with some bands we really dig like The High Curbs, Archer Oh and an upcoming show with
Mexican Slum Rats.
Let’s bring them to Toronto next, shall we?!
