Lucid Smog Disorder - Maddy Addy

" Grit, rawness, and attitude."

Toronto’s very own Lucid Smog Disorder has released their newest single, Maddy Addy. We love this song and have been hearing it live for a while now, and we’re so happy it’s finally available for us to play on repeat. Maddy Addy features a sound of LSD we haven’t heard before. The verses are gritty, raw, and grungy, with the chorus kicking in and giving us the classic LSD sound we’re used to.

The bass is dirty, drums are tight, and the guitar & vocal melody drive the song to the next level. The harmonies in the verses and vocal layering add another dimension to the sound, giving it a dark energy that we really dig. Not just in the verses, but the entire song has wonderful melodies. The mixing and performance are perfect and tight, with subtle additions like a piano added, and of course, we can’t forget the key change and peak of the song that leaves us wanting more - guess we’ll play it on repeat again.

The band has nailed down their sound in this release, and it’s by far our favourite song they’ve done yet. We’ve heard some unreleased stuff live, and we cannot wait for them to be released.

Lucid Smog Disorder is scheduled to play June 21st at Ravengrove next with Black Budget, Bad Objection, and General Chaos in Toronto - we'd better see you there!
